Where is the meeting point?
All our tours start from the Explanada de España 1, next to Peret kiosk and in front of Alicante’s harbour. The guides will be easily recognizable thanks to their purple umbrella. We ´ll be waiting for you!
Which anti-covid measures are taken during the tour?
The use of facial masks is a must during the whole tour. Both the guide and the tourists must wear them. The groups have been reduced, as it is stated by the law. Almost the whole tour takes place outdoors, in spacious places due to the necessity of social distancing.
What is the duration of the tour?
The Old Town Free Tour, at 11 am, lasts for around 2 hours. The Hidden Alicante Free Tour takes 1,5 hours approximately.
The gastronomic tour takes around 3 hours and the Castle Tour takes 2 hours.
The scavenger hunt The Lucentum Code must be solved in 2 hours. Bear in mind that the duration of the tour is just a mere approximation, sometimes there are questions and it takes a bit longer.
Where does the tour finish?
The Old Town Free Tour ends behind the Central Market, in 25 de Mayo Square.
The Hidden Alicante Free Tour concludes in Santa Cruz Hermitage.
The Santa Bárbara Castle tour ends in the castle itself, so if you like you can stay there to take some pictures or you can also follow the guide and go back to the city. We prefer not to tell you where the scavenger hunt The Lucentum Code ends, otherwise it would be a spoiler.

And what if I'm running late?
Each tour has a starting time so it is important to arrive on time, but before leaving we phone call the people who have booked the tour with us, to confirm their attendance. If you are a bit late, or you cannot find the meeting point, we can send you the location in real time from WhatsApp, so you can find us easily.
How can I recognize the guide?
The guide will be waiting for you at Peret kiosk / ice cream parlour. He/she will carry a purple umbrella where is written Free Walking Tours Alicante. In any case, our guides greet you amicably and will introduce themselves as soon as you arrive.
How does a Free Tour work?
The Free Tours do not have a fixed price, but it is the client who sets the price that he considers one the tour has been enjoyed. This “pay after show” modality is widespread throughout the world. Everybody wins! Both, the client who travels with a limited budget, but also everybody else, since the guide will have to make an effort every day, to run the best tour of your life. This also means that we are not going to bore you with many dates and historical details, although some are always necessary. But we will talk about legends, curious and entertaining facts to make the guided tour of Alicante an informative and fun experience.
If it rains, does the free tour take place?
The Free Tours run even if it rains or shine! In case of rain, we usually contact the clients to confirm their attendance, if you want a tour in the rain, we will provide you a tour in the rain 😊
Can I do the tour if I am pregnant?
Of course! Guided tours of Alicante do not require physical effort, although it must be taken into account that they are about two hours on foot.
Can I do the Free Tour of Alicante in a wheelchair?
During The Old Town Free Tour, we only find one flight of stairs, that can be easily avoided by modifying the route a bit, which the guide will be delighted to make.
On the Hidden Alicante Free Tour, we visit two neighbourhoods of Alicante that are located on the slopes of the Castle of Santa Bárbara, which are characterized by their beauty and charm, but also by their stairs, so we do not recommend this guided tour to people in wheelchairs.
